Sweet and Spicy Pineapple

Sweet and Spicy Pineapple

snacks-300k-76.jpg

Sweet pineapple sprinkled with fresh coriander and Indian spices - a refreshing side dish or 5 minute snack.

This dish was inspired from the traditional Indian street food dish, Pineapple Chaat, a tasty side you can eat as a stand alone snack or as a refreshing addition to an Indian curry.

All you need is fresh pineapple, coriander or mint, lime and spices.

When I first made this I was actually pleasantly surprised as to how delicious it was. I love this as an afternoon snack when I can’t decide whether or not I fancy sweet or savoury as it sits somewhere in between. It’s just a little more exciting than grabbing some fruit as a snack.

I would also 100% serve this as a pudding after a curry if I was having friends round for dinner.

Chop up your pineapple and place into a large bowl. Top tip is to use a serated knife to make the chop of chopping that little bit easier.

Mix together the spices in a bowl and then sprinkle over the pineapple and mix well.

Serve alone or with your favourite curry. I love mine with a homemade Chana Masala or Dhal - bliss!
