One-Tray Vegan Apple Crumble

One-Tray Vegan Apple Crumble

Vegan Apple Crumble

A simplified twist on a British classic using just one tray to create a delicious Vegan Apple Crumble!

prep time 15 mins total time 45 mins serves 6

ingredients

  • 4 large bramley apples/any apples

  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 200g rolled oats

  • 50g pecans

  • 100g demerara sugar

  • 100g vegan butter

method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (375°F)

  2. Peel and chop the apples into bite-sized chunks.

  3. In a baking tray, add in your chopped apple, sprinkle with 2 tbsp of brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Mix together with a spoon.

  4. Creating layers to your crumble, top the apples with the rolled oats. Next break up and sprinkle over the pecans, then the demerara sugar and another tsp of cinnamon. Evenly spread out knobs of the butter across the top of the crumble.

  5. Bake your Vegan Apple Crumble in the oven for 30 mins, or until golden brown.

notes

  • This recipe is a simplified take on a British classic. Of course you can blitz the pecans, sugar, butter and oats together in a food processor if you have one and don’t mind doing it the traditional way. But I wanted to give an option to those without a processor, with little space in their kitchen, those feeling lazy or even just those after a new take on this classic!

  • Switch out the apples for blackberries, rhubarb, pears or other fruits of your choice!
