One-Tray Vegan Apple Crumble

GF / SF / VG
Jump to Recipe
Close up of vegan apple crumble.

Warm spiced apples and pecans topped with a crunchy caramelised oat topping. A simplified twist on a British classic using just one tray to create a delicious Vegan Apple Crumble.

This is one of my favourite desserts to make for my friends and family. It reminds me of home, and it is soooo easy.

What you need to Vegan Apple Crumble

bramley apples/any apples

light brown sugar

cinnamon

rolled oats

pecans

demerara sugar

vegan butter

How to make it

Preheat oven to 180°C (375°F)

Peel and chop the apples into bite-sized chunks.

In a baking tray, add in your chopped apple, sprinkle with 2 tbsp of brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Mix together with a spoon.

Creating layers to your crumble, top the apples with the rolled oats. Next break up and sprinkle over the pecans, then the demerara sugar and another tsp of cinnamon. Evenly spread out knobs of the butter across the top of the crumble.

Bake your Vegan Apple Crumble in the oven for 30 mins, or until golden brown.

This recipe is a simplified take on a British classic. Of course you can blitz the pecans, sugar, butter and oats together in a food processor if you have one and don’t mind doing it the traditional way. But I wanted to give an option to those without a processor, with little space in their kitchen, those feeling lazy or even just those after a new take on this classic!

Switch out the apples for blackberries, rhubarb, pears or other fruits of your choice!

Love this recipe, I just mixed the pecans, sugar, butter, cinnamon and oats (I used quick oats) in a bowl and poured that over the apples – Delicious!

are all recipes in metic measurements or are they also in standard form of measurement for all of us less international cooks in the U.S.?
