English Country Cottage Pink Bedroom Tour

Welcome back to another makeover project! This time, we’re focusing on the spare bedroom. Since friends and family often stay with us, we wanted to create a space that feels warm and inviting — rather than the junk room it had become. With fresh paint, new furnishings, and some carefully chosen vintage pieces, this room is now a cosy retreat that I’m so excited to share with you.

The Plan

Since we already have a darker bold green spare room on the other side of the house, I wanted to go a different route with this bedroom. Pale pinks, greens and creams to create a more soft and playful English country cottage bedroom style.

The room didn’t require much work to prepare, just general wall prep and we wanted to add in a few traditional elements, like coving and a ceiling rose.

Wallpaper & paint

From the moment we moved in, I knew this room needed a blush-pink shade. We chose beautiful muted pink colour from Farrow & Ball called Setting Plaster (No. 231), a soft, peachy pink that feels calming and warm. I especially love the colour with the green wardrobe (painted in Farrow & Ball French Grey), it creates a beautiful contrast that makes the room feel colourful in an understated way.

Other paint notes:

Coving – Installed and painted to match the style of the rest of the house.
Radiator – Given a fresh coat of paint to tie in with the walls.

Soft furnishings

To soften the look and add comfort, I layered in plenty of fabric textures and patterns.

Curtains – A floral print from Wayfair, a collaboration made with Angel Strawbridge (from Escape to the Chateau fame!). They don’t quite touch the floor, but the print is so beautiful that I couldn’t resist.

Rug – A vintage Persian-style rug sourced locally from Whiskers Antiques in Cornwall.

Bedding & Cushions – A mix of vintage and new, including a handmade quilt from Etsy and patterned cushions from Oka. I wanted to mix prints to push me outside of my comfort zone and I love the end result. As long as you keep with similar colours they match.

Lighting – Matching pleated lampshades from Pooky Lights, which add a modern but cosy touch.

Mixing prints felt like a bold choice for me, but by sticking to complementary warm tones (pinks, greens, and ochres), it came together beautifully.

Furniture

Nearly all of the furniture came from Facebook Marketplace and vintage shops — affordable, sustainable, and full of character. This mix of old and new makes the room feel collected over time rather than designed all at once.

As I mentioned earlier the wardrobe is pre-loved and repainted in French Grey Farrow & Ball.

The bed Frame was a marketplace find (£50!) paired with our new Emma mattress.

Next we chose to include an antique dark wood chest of drawers we found on Facebook. This was actually passed down from a family member of the seller.

The bedside table is antique and includes the original candle holders (so charming!) which protect the top of the table from any marks from the heat and wax.

The chair we have in there ae moment is currently a placeholder until I can source a vintage rocking chair.

Decorations

One of my favourite parts of decorating a room is adding the finishing touches that tie it all together. I added:

Vintage chandelier – Sourced from Etsy, delicate and girly, with glass drops that catch the sunlight.
Ceiling rose – From B&Q, surprisingly affordable and made of real plaster.
Botanical prints – From local Falmouth artist Sarah Jane Humphrey, bringing nature indoors.
Plants & baskets – A few well-placed plants add texture and warmth.

The combination of antique lighting, art, and soft fabrics gives the bedroom a super cosy feel.
