Home / Sustainability

For all my beginner minimalists, I’ve got your back! I’ve put together a simple list of 50 things that you can get rid of at home. These are the things I started getting rid of when I first embarked on minimalism, and it really helped to kick start minimising the sheer volume of things I owned.

Remember that the things on this list are just a suggestions, and there may be some that you definitely want to keep for your lifestyle. But once you’ve made your way through this list, your life should be a whole lot less cluttered.

Firstly, save this page on your phone or take a screenshot, look at it in the coming weeks, and get decluttering!

Goodbye unwanted stuff, hello the new clutter free and minimal you!

Hi Maddie, I saw the video for this before I read the post and remember making a list of everything you were saying. We recently bought our first home and the moving process was such a struggle because we have been carting round so much stuff for so many years and never really having a proper clear out because ‘you never know when you might need this or that’. Having my own home has helped because it feels more permanent and I am learning to appreciate the space rather than the things within it! I think so far we have cleared about 4 car loads of stuff and I now don’t have anything stored under beds or in boxes on top of things and most things have a space. The only thing I am struggling with are clothes. I am bigger than I used to be but can’t let go of my older, slimmer clothes. They are such lovely clothes, good quality and had lasted me for years and I want to get back into them but eventually I want to clear these so I don’t have anything in storage (we have a large cupboard with all my storage boxes). A bit of an essay but I just wanted to say I have been loving your channel recently and have cooked a few of your recipes etc. and am really enjoying your content! Kelly xx
